Below is a list of our current 'Elite' gymnasts along with a quick Bio of each, these guys are at the top of the tree and participate in many competitions throughout the year at national level, they train in excess of 20 hours a week and are fully dedicated to their sport, showing extreme dedication and feats of strength and agility they are greatly admired by both students and parents.

About Megan....
Megan has been a member of the Club since August 2008 and was quickly identified as having a talent for the sport.
Megan won a number of County Novice and Intermediate titles throughout 2010 and has now progressed through the levels to South West competition level.
Megan’s most recent achievement was the overall bronze medallist at the South West Alpha Factor in November 2011.
Megan is hoping to take part in the Compulsory Grades in February and is working hard to achieve this. Megan is also a member of the Cornwall County Squad.

About Calum....
Calum began at the Swallows at an early age taking part in the Saturday morning Recreational sessions.
Calum was spotted by the coaches very quickly and moved to a Development group with the Boy’s Senior Coach.
Calum has made huge progress over the years, and has a number of British National Final medals to show for his commitment.
Calum and the South West Team took the National Gold medal in 2011 for the Elite Grades and he has also recently taken the overall Silver medal at the Regional Apparatus Championships in the Under 10 age group.
Calum is currently a member of the Boy’s South West Squad that meet to train five times a year.

About Jaron....
Jaron has come through the Club from the Pre school classes. Since joining at the age of 4 years, and following on in his sister's footsteps, Jaron showed a natural ability for Gymnastics.
Jaron joined the competition squad at the age of 6 and has progressed through the levels taking a number of Regional titles along the way.
Jaron earned his place to represent the South West at the National Grades Finals on a number of occasions returning home with Team medals every time!
Jaron is a member of the South West Elite squad that meet to train four times a year.
In September 2011, Jaron travelled for the first time to compete with the Countries best at the Under 16 British Championships and gained a very well deserved 20th place in the all around event.
Jaron is currently a member of the Boy’s South West Squad that meet to train five times a year.

About Cameron....
Cameron started his Gymnastics in January 2007 with Boy’s Coach Eddie Bratu.
Cameron was the youngest member of the group initially, training with the older boys on occasions.
Cameron has won a number of British National Final medals which indicates his talent for the sport.
Cameron and the South West Team recently took the National Gold medal for the NDP Elite Finals. More recently, Cameron took the overall Bronze medal at the South West Apparatus Championships in the Under 10 age group, just behind his team mate.
Cameron is currently a member of the Boy’s South West Squad that meet to train five times a year.

About Heather....
Heather has been attending the gym since the age of 5 years, initially as a Recreational gymnast.
In 2007, Heather was asked to join the Development group which she was happy to do, increasing her hours to four per week.
Heather is a very committed gymnast who works extremely hard during her training and earlier this year Heather qualified to represent the South West at the British Club Grades National Finals held in Birmingham.
The Team gained an overall Bronze medal for their efforts.
Heather is also the County 11 years Apparatus Champion and Floor and Vault Champion for 2011.

About Shauna....
Shauna joined the Swallows at the age of 5 ½ at Recreational level. Shauna enjoyed her gymnastics and always worked hard to strive to achieve. Shauna worked hard at home to improve her flexibility and strength and was asked to join the Novice group to take part in competitions.
Shauna quickly progressed through the Club representing the Club at West Country Leagues as well as a number of South West events.
After a number of injuries throughout 2010, Shauna was unable to compete and had to work extremely hard to overcome these setbacks.
In 2011 Shauna took the County Apparatus title as well as representing the South West at the British National Grade 6 Finals in Birmingham.
Shauna is currently a member of the Cornwall County Squad.
Phoebe Jenkin

About Phoebe....
Phoebe has been attending the gym from a very early age, initially as a toddler at Pre school gym.
Phoebe was asked to join the Development group at the age of 5, and worked very hard to improve her strength at home.
Phoebe took a number of low level titles, including Club Champion on a number of ocassions, before trialling for the County Squad and gaining a place at the age of 7 years.
Phoebe took the Wiltshire Open Silver medal on Beam and Bronze medal on Floor in 2011, perhaps her most pleasing results to date.
Phoebe is currently the 2011 County Apparatus and Floor and Vault Champion in the 9 years age group.
